About the Author
Award-winning Canadian cartoonist Jeff Lemire is the creator of the acclaimed monthly comic book series SWEET TOOTH published by DC/Vertigo and the award winning graphic novel Essex County published by Top Shelf. Now one of DC Comics cornerstone writers, Jeff was prominent in the publisher's recent "New 52" line-wide relaunch as the writer of ANIMAL MAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK and FRANKENSTEIN: AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E. He has also written the monthly adventures of SUPERBOY, THE ATOM and CONSTANTINE. In 2008 Jeff won the Schuster Award for Best Canadian Cartoonist and The Doug Wright Award for Best Emerging Talent. He also won the American Library Association's prestigious Alex Award, recognizing books for adults with specific teen appeal. When I read the first Volume I wasn't sure about the story I heard a lots of good stuff about it and hearing those good reviews got me hyped for this "I love jeff lemire (just wanted to say it)" but after reading the first volume I didn't understand all the positive review yeah it was a good comic but not amazing "maybe I felt that way because I got over hyped" then after reading this volume I started to like the series more and more the art isn't the best if you like Jeff Lemire's art you will like this one too the paneling is so cool I really like the way Jeff Lemire panels his comics overall I think this volume is better than the first and it is a good series if you like Jeff Lemire or post apocalyptic stories then you will enjoy this series too "give it a try you won't be disappointed"
I need to read vol. 3 now. Jeff Lemire is currently fighting with Geoff Johns for my favorite position, and this work is one of the best examples I can give as to why. The heart, raw emotion, art, honesty, and real feel he puts into every single character hooks me from the start to the end, leaving me craving more. Many critics say these types of statements, but this is one of the works where the words have validity. This isn't a Grant Morrison Flash dumpster fire, this is true art. Don't read any descriptions, just buy it and let Jeff rip your heart in two. What is the biggest compliment I can give sweet tooth? Here's a rough idea of its personal ranking at the moment:1: Watchmen2: Maus3: Geoff Johns' Green Lantern4: Sweet Tooth5: Sandman(The Placements are a bit fluid)He is an amazing author.
I've had this on pre-order since last year. Worth the wait. Far more beautiful and well made than the soft backs. Lemire's mix of pen stroke and water color luminates every page. One of my favorite series and I would pretty much recommend this to anyone with an interest in graphic novels. I know it sounds cliche, but Sweet Tooth appeals to nearly everyone. I am a die hard horror and gore fanatic, so the idea of this book sounded strange to me at first. Within pages I was hooked. Can't wait till the third and final deluxe edition comes out this October.
I pre-ordered Sweet Tooth (Deluxe Book Two) because I'm a fan of Jeff Lemire, and had previously ordered Book One in the series. It was delivered and on my doorstep the exact date it was promised, which also happened to be the day it was released. The book arrived in perfect condition and is well bound. I will be pre-ordering Book Three as well.I recommend this series to anyone that loves graphic novels with grit, and a twist on the apocalyptic world. The deluxe books are full of so much extra content and totally worth the price, especially since it's hardbound.

Just got it today. Great edition to a great comic. Imagine a child as innocent as kimmy schmidt in Mad Max world. Lemire knows exactly how to portrait innocence.
Sweet Tooth is a fantastic series by Jeff Lemire. I am a huge fan of pretty much everything I've read by him. This book really expands on the first one in some great ways. The reader gets to learn a bit more about the characters. Jeppard gets a nice treatment that explains quite a bit about what happened at the end of the first book and gives some insight into his relationship with Gus.The series gains some direction in this book. The first book created the problem, while this one gives the characters the first pieces of understanding and resolving it. And the book begins to explore Gus's connection to everything that has happened with the hybrids and the disease that is killing humanity. There are some detours along the way. I like how these fit into the story and expand upon various elements. It gives some of the characters to develop more naturally.I have enjoyed Lemire's art. It might not be everyone's taste (I admit it took me some time to get used to it), but at this point it feels right at home with this series. It provides a down to earth quality that meshes well with the mentality of the characters.This is the middle book of the series. If you've made it this far, you'll want to see it through to the end.
