I purchased this book as one of many touch points to help our children comprehend and experience the principles of Kwanzaa at their developmental level. This book reflects a very sweet story of Umoja (unity) within the family. When children see loving stories modeled, they can imagine themselves being loving. Highly recommend for parents and teachers.
I like how this book gives the pronunciations of each Kwanzaa item. A heartwarming story and portrait of a thriving African American family.
Love the colorful detailed pages. Love that mu children can better understand Kwanzaa through a story that includes characters that look like them
excellent for parents that want to read and explain the meaning of kwanzaa to young children. not very good for young readers as there are huge words that are very hard to pronounce.
